GANDHI JAYANTHI 2025
On October 2nd, the staff along with the
Scouts, Guides and Squadron Leaders of Bharat Scouts and
Guides, Cubs, Bulbuls and Bunnies Movement gathered at
the Trinitorium to pay homage to India's most prolific
freedom fighter, Mahatma Gandhi.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by the
teachers. Skilfully presented by Ms Parinitha and Ms
Iksha of Grade 7, the dignitaries of the day i.e.,
Principal Rev Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice Principal and
Administrator Rev Fr Amar Lobo and Academic Co-ordinator
Ms Magdalena Lewis offered flowers to the portrait of
Gandhi, as a mark of reverence, which was then followed
by the lighting of the lamp.
The 'All Faith Prayer', that culminates all religions
under one roof was rendered by the students of the
Scouts and Guides, along with their Squadron leaders.
The All-Faith prayer included religious hymns and
shlokas, and readings from the Holy Scriptures - The
Bhagvad Gita, The Holy Bible and The Quran which were
read by Master Vedanth (Grade 7), Ms Riyona and Ms Arwa
of Grade 8 respectively.
Following this, Ms Pranavi of Grade 7 highlighted the
importance of the day through a meaningful speech. In
his speech, Rev Fr Amar Lobo spoke highly of Gandhi's
values, his selfless sacrifice for the nation and
teachings, reminding us that, in a world that has now
lost tolerance, humanity and patience with each other,
we must learn from the values left behind by Gandhi -
values of truth, ahimsa, patriotism, honour, and
equality. The programme came to a close with the
rendition of the National Anthem.
