PARLIAMENT SESSION - 1
As with every council or government,
there will always be two important council sessions held
where the leaders address, discuss and deliberate to
work for the betterment of the council. Reading on
similar lines, the First session of the School
Parliament took place on Thursday, 04. 09.2025 with the
participation of the Council members and students of
Grades 6-10.
Ryan Dsouza, SPL extended the invitation to the
Principal Rev Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, Fr Amar Lobo - Vice
Principal and Administrator and to Ms Preetha Furtado,
Moderator od the Parliament.
Following this, the session commenced with the moderator
outlining the rules and decorum of the Parliament
session. The session was moderated by the Parliament
Speaker Master Vishisht and Deputy Speaker Ms Shamika.
Council members raised their concerns on various issues
like class/line discipline, cleanliness, wearing ID
cards, behaviour/interaction of leaders
with students, etc. The leaders
responded to the complaints raised, and agreed to work
on their fallbacks and improve their leadership skills.
At the end of the 90-minute session, the Chief Moderator
Ms Preetha highlighted on the pros and cons of the
session and offered valuable suggestions for improvement
in all matters raised. The Principal, in his address
informed the students that they need to be well-prepared
for the Parliament session and not put leaders on the
spot. He iterated that it is important that all students
respect each other, and follow the rules and regulations
as it is the same for all.
Overall, it was a fruitful and enriching experience for
all present.
