YOGA DAY 2025
With healthy, holistic living becoming a
trailblazer for the generations of yore and today, yoga
- an ancient Indian practice was the core point at the
commemoration of World Yoga Day on Saturday, 21.06.2025
held at school. World record holder in multiple
disciplines of yoga, Ms Tanushree was the honourable
chief guest of the event.
As comperes of the event, Master Aman and Master Anshul
of Grade 8, kicked off the event proceedings by inviting
the choir to lead all Trinitarians into prayer and
thanksgiving. After being invited to the dais, the chief
guest, along with the Principal, Vice Principal and
Academic Co-ordinator were accorded the words of welcome
by Ms Seana Dsilva.
Light not just dispels darkness, but inspires to seek
new beginnings. The dignitaries then proceeded with the
lighting of the lamp. Mindfulness is an important asset
of yoga, and this can be well-complimented with the
chanting of the shlokas, which was recited by Master
Archith, who also explained its meaning.
Ms Ninoshka presented a speech, that focused on the
importance of Yoga. The students of Grade 7 and 8,
presented a dance routine with different yoga postures
and techniques. Later on, Ms Shalvi and Ms Tanishka
presented some interesting facts about Yoga.
Ms Tanushree in her message, reiterated on the
importance of yoga and how doing regular yoga helps in
maintaining an equal balance of mental, physical and
spiritual health. Prior to her speech, Ms Tanushree was
felicitated in recognition of her talent and
achievements. After her speech, all Trinitarians were
left mesmerised by the fantastic performance of Ms
Tanushree who demonstrated over 20+ yoga asanas and
routines. Every move, every twist, every turn, kept
students on curious toes until the end of the
performance. Later, She also performed a Bharatanatyam
dance with graceful yogic moves highlighting on the
importance of our responsibility towards our country,
especially our soldiers.
In his speech, the Principal shared how, we Indians
should consider ourselves lucky to be born in a country
that introduced Yoga to the world. He reiterated on the
importance of the following traditions, that have been
handed to us by our ancestors, as the world around us
changes in so many ways. He said, that we must not
forget that even with technology taking over every
aspect of life, we must remain rooted to healthy
practices in our life.
The event came to close following the vote of thanks by
Ms Dhanvi of Grade 7.
