Session on "Understanding Adolescence" – 27th August 2026
Trinity Central School organised an
enlightening session on "Understanding Adolescence" on
27th August 2026 in the school auditorium from 11:00 AM
to 01:00 PM for the boys of Grades 9 and 10.
The session was conceptualised with the objective of
enabling students to develop a nuanced understanding of
the physical, emotional, social and behavioural
transitions intrinsic to adolescence.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Sunil Kumar G, MD (Ayurveda)
and PG Diploma in Psychological Counselling, presently
associated with Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital. With
15 years of exemplary experience in psychiatry and
de-addiction, Dr. Sunil possesses profound expertise in
patient counselling, rehabilitation, community mental
health initiatives, and tobacco and smoking
de-addiction. He is additionally certified in Dementia
Care by the Dementia India Alliance.
The deliberation encompassed age-appropriate
psychosexual education, personal boundaries, consent,
privacy, healthy peer dynamics and challenges commonly
encountered during adolescence. Students were sensitised
to the quintessence of self-respect, reverence for
others and conscientious decision-making. The discourse
further dwelt upon pertinent contemporary concerns such
as peer influence and the imprudent overuse of mobile
phones and online gaming.
Ms. Andrea graciously introduced and welcomed the
resource person, while Ms. Anisha eloquently proposed
the Vote of Thanks, expressing profound gratitude to Dr.
Sunil for his invaluable time and erudite insights.
The session provided a safe, supportive and
intellectually enriching platform for students to
comprehend adolescence with greater clarity and to
embrace this formative phase of life with heightened
awareness, responsibility and respect.
