Grandparents' Day Celebration at Trinity Central School

Perampalli, Udupi | 15th February 2025

Trinity Central School, Perampalli, Udupi, celebrated Grandparents' Day with great enthusiasm on Saturday, 15th February 2025, creating a memorable day filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation for the grandparents of the students. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Nagaraj Varkady, a renowned journalist and artist, who spoke about the invaluable role of grandparents in shaping young minds and preserving cultural values.

The program was compered by Ms. Namratha, who set an engaging tone for the day. Ms. Pallavi Santhosh welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Akhila delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks at the end. The school’s leadership, including Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Suni Lobo, Vice Principal & Administrator Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao, PTA President Mr. Abdulla, Secretary Ms. Priya Furtado, Academic Coordinator Ms. Magdelina Lewis, Primary Section Head Ms. Poornima Devadiga, and Pre-Primary Section Head Ms. Renita Montero, played a pivotal role in organizing the event and ensuring its success.

A highlight of the celebration was the vibrant dance and music performances by the grandchildren for their beloved grandparents. The students showcased their talents through energetic dance routines set to nostalgic tunes, while soulful musical performances created an emotional and heartwarming atmosphere. Seeing their grandchildren perform with enthusiasm and love was a touching moment for the grandparents, making the celebration even more special.

Adding to the fun and excitement, games were conducted for the grandparents, bringing out their enthusiasm and playful spirit. The winners were awarded prizes, making the occasion even more delightful. A special moment of the event was the recognition and honor given to the eldest grandparents and an octogenarian great-grandmother, acknowledging their presence and contributions to their families and society.

In a remarkable initiative for the well-being of grandparents, a free dental camp was organized by Dr. Jishnu Pradeep and Dr. Hrishitha from the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal. The camp provided essential dental check-ups and oral health awareness, reflecting the school's commitment to caring for the elderly. The event was attended by teachers, non-teaching staff, and ancillary staff, whose presence and support contributed to the smooth execution of the program and added to the celebratory spirit.

The event concluded on a heartwarming note, with grandparents reminiscing about their past while creating new memories with their grandchildren. Trinity Central School looks forward to continuing this beautiful tradition, strengthening the bond between generations and honoring the wisdom, love, and support that grandparents provide.
